The GFPA is a technical-scientific non-profit organization; it is "Member of CFPA-Europe and CFPA-International" (Confederation of Fire Protection Association). Its aim is the support of scientific, technical and organizational development of risk protection for more safety in fire prevention, technical rescue and ambulance services, environmental protection and catastrophe prevention (non-police risk protection). All important companies, organizations and single persons are members.

The GFPA

• works on solving manifold safety problems,

• supports different research projects,

• publishes directives and recommendations,

• assists in establishing and defining national, European and international standards (DIN, CEN, ISO),

• instructs,

• supports German companies and associations abroad.
